Spring events are in filling up my evenings lately like no other. I’ve been so excited about all of the happenings that I had two in one night! It was awesome though, so much fashion and style. My kind of night! The first event was at David Peck’s boutique: Heroes and Handbags event featured the newest clutches and handbags by Houston artist Hanh Tran. Twenty percent of the proceeds from the evening’s sales benefitted Heroes for Children.

My second event of the evening was held at Up restaurant in Highland Village. Presented by Houston Magazine, Men of Style was the theme of the night. We mingled and noshed on tasty apps with local fashionistas and dapper gents. It was the place to be for Houston’s Fashion Elite.

November 1st marked a day of horse and rider, fall and fashion at West World in Scottsdale. As an equine and fashion lover, this event marriages my two favorite things beautifully. Being deemed “a rich man’s sport”, I am always in aww at the outfits worn to the matches. The women always look so well put together with their big hats and the dapper men are not to be over looked. Jadapa had the privilege of attending the Ferrari -Maserati themed event and fashion show after day one of the polo match. Hosted by Phoenix Fashion Week and styling by Dillard’s and My Sister’s Closet, riding boots were a big hit on the runway. Emerging Designer, Doux Belle, also made her mark pairing the outfits with her gorgeous, one of a kind hats. Another amazing show put on by the Phoenix Fashion Week team!

I love the weather in Houston in October. The humidity is bearable, the leaves change and the weather is cool and crisp. However this year, Houston had other plans. It has been in the 80’s and 90’s all month! This certainly makes my wardrobe transition extremely difficult, especially when it is cool in the morning and warm throughout the day. I am a big fan of wearing tights under skirts and shorts to move my spring clothes in to the fall. I switched to Bootights last month when I received my first pair and I’m hooked. Bootights are tights with socks attached, so you don’t have the usual slipping around in your shoes with regular tights. I choose a pair with a funky pattern to bring a pop of color to my black peasant dress and booties.
